By October 1861, a scant 18 months later, the completion of the transcontinental telegraph had rendered the Pony Express obsolete. Each Pony Express 150th Anniversary Limited Historical Edition Rifle is available on the Rossi R92 Stainless Steel Carbine (.45 Colt, .44 Mag, or .38/357) and features the following:
Detailed engraving on both sides of the hardwood forearm, 150th Anniversary dates on the right side and the recruitment poster on the left side.
The right side of the hardwood buttstock is engraved with an intricate, original piece of artwork that depicts the iconic Pony Express rider, while the left side is reserved for custom personalization.
The right side of the receiver is engraved with an scene depicting the construction of the transcontinental telegraph, while the left side features a map of the Pony Express Route from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California! Each rifle is individually numbered on the left side of the receiver: 1 of 150, 2 of 150 and so on.
